DECO DARLING

This was a full renovation of a character bungalow in St Heliers, Auckland. While glorious in her day, this old girl was now in need of a total overhaul. I revised the entire floorplan adding an ensuite to the master bedroom, removing walls to create an open plan kitchen, reconfiguring the bathroom and transforming a mouldy downstairs laundry into a home office complete with a new internal stairway.

Taking inspiration from the deco era when the home was built, herringbone flooring, statement stone, cut-glass chandeliers, textured fabrics, fluted glass and brass details were used to create a modern interior with a nod to tradition.
