reveal / Ocean Escape Kids bedrooms

There’s something so special about designing spaces for children—especially when those spaces are part of a total beach house rebuild. These two matching kids’ rooms were created as part of a full home transformation on the coast, and we loved every minute of crafting them from the ground up.

The vision for this beach house was to create a serene, timeless interior that reflects the natural beauty just outside. Think soft sand underfoot, ocean breezes, and that light-filled coastal calm. With that in mind, we laid the foundation for the kids' rooms using limestone paved floors—durable and sand-friendly—paired with white bandsawn timber plank ceilings for texture and charm. The walls are a crisp, clean white, and we framed the windows with sand-coloured linen curtains that move beautifully in the sea breeze.

From that blank canvas, we introduced the main focal point: the beds. We custom-designed full-width headboards with a ribbed horizontal design, alternating between white and sandy tones. These feel playful yet polished—perfect for a coastal kids’ room.

To carry that detail further, we created matching ribbed ottomans for the foot of each bed, upholstered in the same fabric. With gas strut lids, they’re not only beautiful but also incredibly practical—ideal for stashing toys and tucking things away in a snap.

Each bed is fully dressed in soft, breathable linen—from bedskirts to duvets, pillows, and a generously sized quilt layered on top. The look is cozy, elevated, and kid-friendly all at once. Under each bed, we grounded the space with large rugs that add warmth and a sense of scale.

Storage was key, so we designed wardrobes with maximum function in mind. Rather than the usual plain white, we opted for linen-look Melteca fronts with classic shaker paneling to elevate the look and tie into the soft, coastal palette.

Finishing touches? Each room has a sweet little bedside table paired with a marble lamp for that gentle glow come bedtime.

We love how these spaces feel cohesive, calming, and still full of personality. They’re ready for sandy feet, seashell treasures, bedtime stories, and lots of memories to come.
